What we do

Award Entries

We manage the whole process for time-pressured professionals.

Winning or receiving nominations for industry awards is an excellent way to boost your firm’s reputation, providing both publicity and credentials that impress potential clients and referrers as well as supporting recruitment campaigns and providing a feel-good factor for staff.

Black Letter Communications has built an enviable track-record in drafting successful award entries for our clients.

We are well versed in drafting compelling entries designed to make our clients’ achievements stand-out to award judges. As a result, our clients have been recognised in over 20 award categories over the last six years, including the British Legal Awards, Legal Business Awards, Managing Partners’ Forum Awards, Law Society Excellence Awards and the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.

Our team manages the whole process for time-pressured professionals, from making recommendations on which awards to enter, contacting and interviewing referees to support the entry, through to drafting the final submissions.

Focus on business objectives

Focus on business objectives

Our first step is to talk to you about why winning awards matters to your business. Are you looking to improve your reputation amongst clients and referrers? Which practice areas need to raise their profile? Do you want to boost recruitment or gain recognition for particular individuals within your organisation?

Once we have a clear idea of your objectives, using our in-depth knowledge of legal industry and wider business awards, we will draw up a list of appropriate awards coming up over the year, ensuring we focus on those that are reputable and will be impressive to your target audiences.

Making recommendations

Making recommendations

There are a myriad of awards that law firms can enter, from those run by legal titles such as The Lawyer and Legal Business, sector specific awards such as The British Insurance Awards and The Third Sector Awards to national business awards such as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year. We will help you to pick those that are most suited to your business and what you are seeking to achieve.

We will look at the criteria and work with you to evaluate whether an individual or a practice area has a compelling story to tell. Have they worked on a landmark or high-profile case? Have they acted in one of this year’s biggest property deals? Do they have third party referees who will vouch for them? We will give you honest feedback and will recommend against entering if we think winning is unlikely.

Telling your story

Telling your story

Our experienced team will then interview fee earners and referees, drawing out projects, deals or cases that will tick boxes with the judges as well as impressive initiatives carried out outside of the day job for the benefit of the profession or wider community.  We will then draft submissions, giving you plenty of time to feedback before the deadline.

Making the most of the accolade

Making the most of the accolade

If you win or are nominated, we can help you make the most of it. We can draft copy for your website, ensure you get the message out on social media and that the winning team or individuals gets a write up in your internal communications.

If you are targeted in the awards you enter and ensure you capitalise on the event and on any successes you have, entering can be a great way to build your brand reputation and provide an excellent return on investment.
